About the Course

Golf at Monarch Bay

Designed by John Harbottle in 2001, Monarch Bay Golf Club’s 18-hole (Tony Lema) links course is situated along San Francisco Bay in San Leandro, California. At 7,015 yards with a demanding slope rating of 130, our 18-hole championship Lema course features well-placed, deep bunkers and rolling Paspalum fairways. The Lema course features well-guarded Poa Annua and Bentgrass greens that are walked, mowed, and rolled in the old tradition. Our signature sixteenth hole is a long 598-yard par 5 that heads you back towards the clubhouse and runs adjacent to the San Francisco Bay; and while your goal will be to avoid the 10 bunkers that help define this beautiful hole, players will probably only remember the breathtaking views of the San Mateo Bridge, Oakland Airport, and downtown San Francisco. Monarch Bay Golf Club also offers a fun and well-laid-out 9-hole par 30 executive course measuring 1,734 yards for golfers looking to squeeze in a round after work or for beginners getting acquainted with the game.
